A lifelong creative with an eye for detail, Birmingham born photographer Joanne Burnett discovered her passion behind the lens after an unexpected invitation to a Formula 1 test with Ferrari.
What began as an amateur attempt to capture her hero, Michael Schumacher, soon evolved into a distinctive photographic style that focused not on the cars or drivers, but on the unseen human moments behind the sport that tells the real story of racing.
Joanne’s work gained international recognition when her photographs exposed racist behaviour toward Lewis Hamilton making global headlines and prompting change within the sport.
After years covering F1, MotoGP, and touring cars, she turned her lens toward the natural world, channelling the same curiosity and empathy into capturing wildlife and birds from her travels. Joanne’s images reflect a deeply personal pursuit, capturing her enduring love of observation and storytelling through imagery.
